The City of Bellevue has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for its next solid waste collection contract, seeking companies to provide garbage, recycling, and organics services.
Proposals will be evaluated later this year, with City Council consideration in 2027 and a contract award in mid-2027. The new contract is expected to begin in July 2028 following a transition period.
The city emphasized the procurement process aims to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable waste services, with evaluations based on industry best practices, community needs, compliance with state laws, and innovative technology.
