Eastgate Park courts switch to pickleball-only

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Eastgate Park's dual-use sport courts will become pickleball-only starting Tuesday, Sept. 1, with tennis nets removed and the courts permanently transitioned to pickleball use.

Pickleball participation has risen citywide, according to Bellevue Parks & Community Services, which cites recreation planning assessments and community feedback as justification. The department states the change aligns with recreation access goals and ensures long-term court quality. Resurfacing with permanent pickleball lines is planned as a follow-up project.

Tennis courts remain available at Silver Leaf, Lakemont, Spiritridge and Sunset parks within three miles of Eastgate Park. No other dual-use courts in Bellevue are scheduled for conversion at this time.
