I-405 will have multiple lane closures on both northbound and southbound directions, including overnight closures from Aug. 24-26 and extended closures through Aug. 31. SR 20 near Loup Loup Pass will have alternating one-lane traffic Mondays-Thursday through Aug. 27. SR 9 near Kalloch Road will operate on single-lane alternating traffic until Sept. 14 for fish passage construction.
The closures impact daily commutes in Puyallup and surrounding areas, with expected delays during work hours. WSDOT states detours will be signed for the I-405 closures, while SR 20 will have automatic flaggers and reduced speed limits. The fish passage project on SR 9 is scheduled to continue until Sept. 14, with additional alternating traffic through Sept. 3.
Construction is scheduled to end on Aug. 31 for the most extensive I-405 closures and on Sept. 14 for the SR 9 project, with no further updates provided in the public record.
