Juanita and Waverly Beaches Reopen for Swimming

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Juanita Beach and Waverly Beach in Kirkland have reopened for swimming, wading, and other water activities as of 5 p.m. on June 23, 2026, following a recommendation from Public Health – Seattle & King County.

The beaches were closed to swimming starting June 16 due to elevated bacteria levels. King County Water and Land Resources Division staff tested the water this week and confirmed it was safe for recreational use. King County crews will continue weekly water sampling throughout the summer to monitor safety.

King County tests swim beaches weekly, closing them if bacteria levels are high. The county's Lake Swimming Beach Data webpage provides current status updates. Residents can join the King County Lake Beach Alert mailing list for closure notifications.
