The City of Kirkland has announced three upcoming Conversations with Council events scheduled for July and September 2026. These informal gatherings allow residents to directly engage with Councilmembers about neighborhood concerns, ideas for city improvements, or other local issues without a set agenda. Events will be held at Rotary Central Station Picnic Area on July 16, O. O. Denny Park Picnic Shelter on July 30, and Kitchen & Market Café on September 29.
The Conversations with Council program, launched in January 2026, follows a B. Y. O. T.™ (Bring Your Own Topic) approach where residents shape the discussion. More than 75 residents have participated in the program to date. Councilmember Shilpa Prem emphasized that these conversations help the Council better understand community priorities and inform future discussions.
City Council is on recess in August, with the next events scheduled for late summer and early fall. The September session at Kitchen & Market Café will mark the program's first business-hosted event. Residents can attend any session without registration, and local businesses can apply to host future sessions through the City's program website.
