WSDOT announced new lane closures and traffic adjustments on multiple routes effective August 26, 2026. SR 14 eastbound from milepost 27.5 to 42.14 will have intermittent lane closures starting August 26 at 6:42 a.m. US 2 eastbound near Fir Road will have a right lane closure starting August 26 at 11:26 a.m.
I-405 northbound will close up to three lanes from August 28 at 11 p.m. through August 31 at 4 a.m. The southbound HOV lane on I-405 will be closed nightly from August 24 at 9:30 p.m. until August 28 at 5 a.m. SR 20 near Loup Loup Pass will have pavement repairs Mondays through Thursdays until August 27, with alternating one-lane traffic. SR 9 near Kalloch Road will be reduced to a single lane until September 14 for fish passage construction, and traffic will alternate near Mount Vernon Big Lake Road until September 3.
WSDOT states these closures are necessary for maintenance and construction projects, including pavement repairs, bridge work, and fish passage improvements. Drivers should expect delays and use caution, with signed detours for I-405 northbound closures. The full project details are available on WSDOT's website.
